Just the Goods Newsletter - Summer 2022
Hello!!
This year is zoooooming by and -- after what felt like never ending snow, then never ending rain -- it’s FINALLY sunny in Winnipeg! 🌞🌞🌞 I couldn’t be more thrilled. This is especially true since last summer was spent finishing renovations at Just the Goods’ new space, then packing and moving and unpacking … woosh! With all that behind me, this summer is moving at a much more reasonable pace and I hope that will mean more time outdoors soaking up vitamin D, as well as inspiration from green plants and blue skies!
If you follow Just the Goods on Instagram, you might have read that I’ve started my very first mini garden a few weeks ago. Yes, my partner was at one time an epic gardener and kindly added plants I could work with ranging from chamomile and sage to lavender and rosemary. We have very different work schedules these days and -- since I’m now the one with a bit more time in the summer -- I decided to try on my own and see how it goes 😉 My “confessions of a novice gardener” can be found here:
Also on the subject of summer and all things fresh and bright, please find below a lil’ newsletter announcing some time away from production at the end of July, plus a big restock of two summer favourites!
Upcoming production pause
I will be pausing production from July 28 to August 7 to enjoy a summer break -- that’s 6 business days away, since Aug 1 is a holiday in Canada.
I’m not sure when Mef will be taking her time away, so for now I’d like to announce that July 22 is the last day to order for guaranteed shipping by July 29.
Orders placed after July 23 will be handmade beginning Aug 8 and will ship as quickly as possible thereafter (Aug 10, 12 or 17). Thank you!! 🌺
Back in stock!
I haven’t quite finished my personal supply of sacha inchi foot balm with lemon and tea tree oil but so many people have asked about it these past few months, so I made a double batch --- 38 jars are now available, and I’m sharing the news with folk via newsletter first; tomorrow I’ll share on Instagram 😊
Organic sacha inchi, also known as the Inca peanut, is a richly moisturizing oil that easily penetrates skin making it especially helpful for areas that are dry and/or thick. It is high in vitamins and antioxidants, as well as being nicely balanced in fatty acids Omega 3, 6, and 9.
Shea butter nourishes skin with vitamins A, E, and F. It also absorbs quickly and provides lasting moisture
Lemon essential oil is antiseptic, disinfectant and anti-fungal. It can also help to soften skin, which is useful when seeking to treat calluses, corns, and bunions
Tea tree oil offers antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antifungal properties making it helpful when seeking to control athlete's foot among other common concerns
Candelilla wax helps to create a texture slightly more like a balm than a butter it has a little more staying power
(Apologies for the copy/paste error in the newsletter, btw!! I accidentally linked to the very first version of this limited edition item, but that has now been corrected above. Thank you!)
Also popular in the summer is JTG’s deodorizing foot scrub made with invigorating peppermint essential oil and cleansing tea tree oil as well as as aloe and vegetable glycerine to help skin retain moisture. Of the sizes recently offered, 80 g / 2.82 oz was favoured by a long shot, so I’ve made more 😊

Mini Sale
Ppppsst! In case you haven’t spotted it yet, I’ve created a category in Just the Goods’ shop where a variety of items appear on sale from time to time. Available now are eyeshadow primers by The All Natural Face and nourishing herbal elixirs created by Harmonic Arts! Find them by clicking here then scrolling to the bottom: https://justthegoods.net/collections
JTG’s subscription service is working out great!
In case you missed it, Just the Goods is very pleased to offer one of the most highly requested service features: subscriptions! Save time and energy by subscribing for products you use regularly and have them ship automatically according to your preferred schedule. There's never any obligation -- you can modify or cancel your subscription anytime thanks to the transparency and flexibility offered by Recharge, the app facilitating this at justthegoods.net 😊
There's only one limitation at play, and that's with respect to how shipping is calculated. Subscriptions are therefore available to:
🌿 all shipping addresses in the United States
🌿 all shipping addresses in Canada, excluding within Manitoba
🌿 all pick up orders at Organic Planet Worker Co-Op in Winnipeg
It is due to the constantly shifting nature of international shipping (i.e. Asendia options appearing then disappearing, etc.) that I'm unable to offer international subscriptions. My apologies! The way Just the Goods is set up to offer local pick up at Organic Planet also means shipping doesn't calculate correctly for orders that need delivery by Canada Post. As such, I'll need to manually cancel any orders from within Manitoba that require shipping and international orders because, sadly, I won't be able to fulfill them 😿
Having said all that, I'm confident this automated system will serve most clients 💗 However, if anyone in Manitoba would like to set up a subscription in a more "old fashioned" way, please contact me and we'll establish a schedule wherein I send invoices via email. This wouldn't be entirely hands off for you, but it will hopefully offload the task of remembering to re-order 😉
I've set the subscription option on products that folks most regularly re-order every month, two months, three months, or six months. If there's a regularly available Just the Goods or petal, leaf, root. by Just the Goods product you'd like me to add to Recharge's subscription product list, please let me know!
Keep in Touch!
Don't forget, the best way to keep in touch for the latest Just the Goods news – especially deadline reminders relating to temporary lab closures – is via social media:

Final Note
You are receiving this newsletter because --- as per the conditions outlined by the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation that came into effect July 1, 2014 --- you've been in touch with Just the Goods in the past either by making a purchase or requesting wholesale information within the last two years, or you have chosen to remain subscribed to this occasional newsletter rather than choosing to click the unsubscribe link at the base of each of each one. With that said, if you would prefer to no longer receive communications from Just the Goods, please let me know and I will remove your email address immediately. And of course, you may also unsubscribe using the link below 😊
As always, thank you for your ongoing support! It is an absolute pleasure to handcraft natural skin and body care products, providing a healthier, small-scale alternative to the corporate "beauty industry". I wouldn't be able to do it without you!
With all my best,
Milena
